Substitute teaching! How would the world manage without the substitute teacher? School systems would perish, children would be ignorant, contract teachers would have to work all the time, principals would jump off tall buildings and parents would cry.

That is why substitute teachers are paid half the salary that contract teachers get. Fair enough; after all, the substitute doesn

Today’s job applicants are encountering a lack of courtesy that is all too common. Businesses are flooded with applicants for every opening and many are showing a lack of respect for job seekers by failing to respond to their applications.

Most employers request resumes and other documentation be sent by e-mail. Occasionally they use the old-fashioned method-the anonymous post office box. The huge volume of applications makes it seem difficult to respond personally to each one. However, the technology is there to reply to all.

Most e-mail programs have the ability to send an automatic response letting applicants know that their information has been received and how and when they will be notified of an interview or the lack of one. If the application is handled through postal mail, a generic letter can be generated and sent out with the same details. There is no excuse for leaving applicants in the dark.

Following an interview, employers continue their thoughtlessness. Applicants are told they will be contacted within a certain time, but it never happens. With the search narrowed, the number of calls or letters should be manageable. People who reach this level in the interview process deserve a follow-up. They need to know if the position has been filled or if the process is continuing.

Consider it public relations for the organization. The person who applies for the job and is treated shabbily by an organization has friends and acquaintances whom they are likely to tell. Furthermore, that applicant may one day be an influential businessperson with a long memory when it comes to choosing business connections.

Job seekers are customers, too, and should receive the same level of customer service as everyone else.

Everyone gets nervous and scared when it is time to go for a job interview. If you are one of these millions of people there is no reason to feel bad or ashamed. If you know someone who tells you that they are not fazed a bit, just remember that they are full of crap. Everyone is affected by interviews; some more than others. I am willing to bet a significant amount of money that even Gary Kubiak of the Broncos is going to be shakin’ in his boots when it comes time to meet with Texans owner Bob McNair. He is a formidable guy and I am sure that he will put Kubiak through the ringer when interviewing him as a replacement for Dom Capers. I am also willing to bet that Gary Kubiak will be prepared for the ringing and will stand up like a pro.

You too can learn to stand up like a pro. All it takes is a little know how. Learn some of the best interviewing secrets and you will be well on your way to scoring that dream job. With a little research and a lot of trying you too can score the big one like it looks Gary Kubiak is going to do with the Texans.

The first thing that you need to remember when going on any interview is to show no fear. It does not matter how you really feel inside. All that matters is what other people can see. If the interviewer sees that you feel uncertain or you are not confident they will have no option but to assume this is because you do not really know how to do the job. Stuttering and stammering never got anyone the job and you need to work on keeping these nervous signs to a minimum.

For some people the only way to learn how to interview and to get over these fears is to interview over and over again. That is fine, as long as you can pay your bills in the meantime. But the goal of this article is to help you get the job in the first few interviews, not the first few hundred. You can do it! All you need is a little determination, and when you feel yourself start to falter just remember Gary Kubiak and the Texans interview. If he can hold up in his situation so can you. If you believe in yourself that it will be evident to the interviewer, and that will also impress the heck out of anyone who is interviewing you for a position at their company.

One of the best interviewing tips that I have ever come across is not something that you will do when in the actual interview. It is something that you should do well before the interview. Visualize. Visualization has gotten me and many other people through numerous tough spots in life. What you do is go through the entire interviewing process in your mind. The whole thing; from when you get up that morning, to the drive in to when you hear your name called and before. Try to visualize the questions you will be asked and imagine yourself answering easily and smoothly.

Don’t just do this visualization exercise once, do it over and over again. At first you might even feel yourself getting nervous imagining the interview but the more you do it, the easier it will become. Pretty soon that interview will seem like a piece of cake. By the time the real interview day rolls around you will be full of confidence and faith in yourself and your ability to handle the situation. This kind of confidence is sure to impress your would be boss and it might even be what wins you the job position.

Who knows, that may even be the secret to Gary Kubiak and his interviewing strategy. Try it and you will see the truth in what I am talking about. It is easy and simple. Just try it before bed tonight and see how powerful visualization can really be as an interviewing tool.

One of the worst culprit industries for hiring illegal aliens is the Car Wash industry and what is interesting is that it is no secret yet it still goes on and no one will do anything about it. In fact many car wash owners that hire illegal aliens and illegal immigrants are so confident that they can get away with exploiting these people that they do it right out in the open?

Surely you have seen these illegal aliens and illegal immigrants at your local car wash and just to prove the point to you; did you are did you not call them into the Border Patrol Office, INS or other authorities? No, you did not did you? And do not give me that excuse that you did not know who to call because sure you did the numbers are in the Government White Page Listings in bold letters?

So let me ask you something are you a quasi-American when it is suits you or are you a real American that believes in this country, our laws and what we stand for as a nation? Do you approve of just anyone coming to this nation who has TB, Hepititus or AIDS? What about in the future with Bird Flu will you care then? Tell me will you go to the car wash, the restaurants or want these folks around your property doing landscaping?

Well it will soon be too late. Why, because of you my fellow quasi-American when it suits you. Look in the mirror will you? Afraid to pick up that phone and call in the local car wash owner who is exploiting people and breaking the law. Consider all this in 2006.

What is network marketing and what can it do for me?

Network marketing is a brilliant and explosive marketing concept. For someone motivated and willing to put in the time, effort, and persistence needed to achieve his or her financial goals, network marketing can provide:

  • a second income on a part-time basis

  • complete financial independence possible with commitment and perseverance

  • work from home

  • time freedom

  • travel opportunities

  • excellent tax advantages

  • a great opportunity for personal growth

  • a positive, supportive environment in which to work

What network marketing is not

  • an illegal pyramid scheme which pays commissions to people to recruit other people

  • a “Get Rich Quick” scheme

  • a company with a high up-front entrance fee to join

  • a company without a retail product or service

In order to succeed, you need to commit to your chosen company for at least one year, and to read about the products and about the industry. Listen to the advice of those who’ve made it and work closely with your upline. Work consistently and methodically. Persevere through down time. Don’t give up. As in al sales work, network marketing is a numbers game. You have to contact many more people than you’ll ever sell products to or recruit. But take heart! With experience it gets easier and easier. You are building an organization in which many people work together, and you are earning an income based on the training and personal sales of many people, each contributing a part of the whole. Building that group is up to you. It takes commitment, perseverance through failures, time, and effort. And it means moving out of your “comfort zone.” But high achievers earning in excess of $100,000 per year in this industry are recognized and well known.

And they came into the business at the bottom, with the same opportunity as you or I have. The only difference is that the Mark Yarnells, Collette Van Reusens, Jan Ruhes, and the Don Faillas of the industry have aimed high and worked long and hard building their downline to get there. But they started as you can, with an investment of maybe a few hundred dollars in products, phone bills and prospecting materials.

What does it mean to be a mystery shopper? It is quite simple – a person is paid to visit local stores and evaluate the kind of service they get. They enter the store and acts like an ordinary customer, just to keep the identity of mystery shopper a secret. A mystery shopper evaluates different aspects of the service while they are in the store.

Mystery shoppers provide businesses with more information through the use of questionnaires and detailed narratives. If you have experience in accounting or have worked as a bookkeeper before, bookkeeping can be a great way to work from home. Small businesses are continuously looking for ways to outsource some of their workload and most of them do not need a full-time in-house bookkeeper. You can approach several businesses in your area and offer to keep their books.

Of course there are some tools you need. You should have some of the basic accounting software like quicken and quick books. If the company you work for uses a different piece of software, they may purchase a copy for you to use at home, or make one of their current licenses available to you. In the beginning I suggest you focus on companies that use software you are already familiar with since you will be working from home and don
